I'm pushing ahead in my attempt to get my blog migrated. I am now struggling with setting it up using Worpress.org software at www.missyisms.com. Check it out, but it's dusty and changing.

Hey all, I thought I would give WordPress a try, so today's entry can be found at missyisms.wordpress.com. Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks.
Don't change your RSS/ATOM feeds yet...or set up two if you'd like to watch both locations...until further notice. I'm just testing things out and might move to www.missyisms.com if I get real daring and try to attempt server management. (I know nothing of MySQL.)
Here's a post about the Top 100 Creative Writing Blogs...no, Missyisms isn't on the list but that's ok. I've only glanced a few of these, but want to look at more.
And if that isn't your cuppa, how about Wikipedia's Blunders. Number 19 made me laugh (partly because of what it's about, but also because it has a blunder itself) and look at the last line of number seven. Nice.

Those of you that know me know that I've been "tottering on the brink" (to borrow from the 1940 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice) of sanity for some time. Today I went over the brink...I signed up for Twitter and Facebook.
I suspect I'll fade on Twitter fairly quickly, but until then you can check my twittering at http://twitter.com/missyisms. See what a boring life I have. ;-) Any of you twitters?
I've signed up for Facebook, but haven't spent time learning it yet. Maybe now as the Closing Ceremonies are on. I guess I have to start looking for friends so my profile won't be so lonely.
Just testing the new Typepad iPod Touch program from the App Store. So far I can't get it to show my categories and I don't like that I have to type in portrait mode instead of landscape, which has bigger keys. I also don't see a away to edit previously published posts.
It does have a feature for photos, but I haven't tried that yet.
Well now for the big test...trying to post this to my blog.
It's NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo. Where do they come up with these names? That's NaBloPoMo, or National Blog Posting Month, and NaNoWriMo, also known as National Novel Writing Month. Since these both have to do with writing, you'd think they could write better acronyms!
NaBloPoMo participants are challenged to write a post every day. NaNoWriMo participants try to write a novel in one month. Why do they pick a holiday month?
Take your pick folks, NaBloPoMo or NaNoWriMo, and have at it. Then be sure to let us know how you do. Or, just join me in hoping for NaBoyAcMo (National Boycott Acronyms Month). Maybe I should copyright that, hmm.
Here are the things a mom says in a 24-hour period, but sung in 2:55 minutes to the William Tell Overture. Yes, I've heard many of these my from Mom, but I'm too old to have heard the "no texting at the table," "no more computer tonight," and "your iPod is my iPod if you don't listen to me." But many of the rest...yeah, I heard them at some point. You too? Worth watching. ;-)
Hat tip: EEK
I'm sitting here writing a blog post that I can't post to my blog. (Isn't English postilious!) My Internet connection has been down for about three hours. I sent some emails a little before nine and right after that everything went dark.
At least this didn't happen in the middle of the day when I have work related stuff to be doing via the Internet!
There are several things I like about TypePad, but since I'm sick, I'm not going to list them now. ;-)
One thing I don't like is that they don't do much to promote the blogs using their service. They always have a short list of "Recently Updated Blogs," but it is very short and NOW they've moved it from their homepage to a screen only viewable after users log on. Way to go...take the little publicity you provide and reduce it even further!!!!! I've commented on this before here.
Well, shock of shocks...on a whim, I checked the list after posting tonight's previous blog about the sweltering heat and zowwy shock...Missyisms was listed. Will wonders never cease! (Missyisms has been on the list before because it's generated a few hits, but this is the first time I've seen it on the list.)
