How's this for fun: freezing bubbles and taking pictures of them. Check out these images, they're great. Thanks to Kazza for sharing this on her blog.
My parents took me to see an elephant today.
This is about 1.5 blocks from my parent's home. It's apparently been on the local news, but I never saw it. I wish I had seen it before it started to melt; nevertheless, it's still very impressive! I'm afraid it will be completely gone in a few days as the snow is now rapidly melting.
This is my windshield from inside the car. We were trying to run errands before the worst of the ice and snow storm hit on Dec. 19, 2008, but the moisture and cold in the air caused the windshield to glaze over. It doesn't snow in the U.K. as often as it does here in the Chicago-area, but they just had a whopper storm. Don't worry, I'm not going to suggest they get a little flinty Chicago toughness. There are lots of pictures on the Internet of kids having fun, commuters suffering in the delays, and famous sights decorated with white fluffiness. I should share some of those pictures, but I won't. Instead, I give you this:
