I thought I'd try a new look. What do you think? This is a template from TypePad, so don't feel like you'll be insulting my feelings if you don't like this look. I'll probably try a few different looks. I'd like to create one of my own, with my own picture in the banner, but that will take more time. TypePad's custom design feature is a bit awkward.
I like this skyline of Chicago, but as usual, the designer made the Standard Oil building shorter than the Hancock building. (I don't think perspective is the complete reason for the height disparity in the image.) Hello people!!!! The Standard Oil building, which isn't called that anymore is the tall white marble building Chicago, is...and always has been...taller than the Hancock building, even though the Hancock added it's antennas.
Another problem with any new template I might use is that I set custom colors each time I added a link to any post...and there isn't an easy way to change that in TypePad. At least the mint green color I've been using lately doesn't clash too badly with the new template.
Looks nice, but your own photo would better.

I thought this had a new look. I like it. It's peaceful and comforting.

ah yes, the cityscape style sheets .. designed by tiffany chow, who made coding mistakes on her Movable Type versions.. heh :)
the style sheet for my blog is one of the cityscape styles that I promptly hacked to pieces with my own banner and colour scheme :)

I wish TypePad would allow me to hack existing styles. Instead, we have to start from scratch and tell TypePad what each component will look like. Very annoying way to design.

urghh that's a bit frustrating :(
can you make a copy of the css and change it? or can you not upload your own files like that?

Unless they've changed something recently...or I'm looking in the wrong place...I have to manually set every piece of how I want it to look. Maybe if I paid for a more expensive account this might be different, but it isn't worth the cost. I'll probably poke around with the settings again sometime soon. Wish me luck. LOL!
