I had several things to blog about today, but they all went out the window when I listened to my voicemail.

A friend from my childhood and teens called to today to tell me that another friend has breast cancer. I spent this evening reading Susie's CaringBridge website and writing her a long note. She had a mastectomy yesterday. Her surgery went well and she came home today. The cancer was only in one breast, but now they are waiting for test results on her lymph nodes.

I haven't seen or spoken with Susie in years, but I feel so for her. Susie, her husband and two children live several states away, so I probably won't be seeing her now either, but she's in my thoughts and prayers. I wrote to her tonight, but I don't know if I said the right things. Are there right things to say? Probably not. I just hope she knows how much I care...and how much all her family and friends care.
